Heat recovery from flue gases or vapours – using subsidies

Maisach, 18 September 2023 – The recovery of heat from exhaust gases lowers the CO2emissions and energy costs. Companies benefit from a subsidy of up to 30 percent of the eligible costs from the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). Eligible and especially efficient are the Thermojekt heat exchanger from NET, a brand of the Raab Group.

The systematic recovery of heat from exhaust gases or vapours can be installed at numerous companies: This technology can be used wherever hot exhaust gases are produced over a long period of time. This applies, for example, to the baking and food industries, hardening plants, powder coating plants, foundries and metal processing.

NET creates object-related concepts on the basis of the plant data. They take into account, among other things, flue gas temperature, burner output and operating hours, to name but a few. The solution also contains information on the expected amortisation. The plus for companies: The Thermojekt heat exchangers are classified as eligible and listed with BAFA.

Heat exchanger variants

The units with smooth tube or finned tube coils recover heat from flue gases. With vapour condensers, the high condensation heat can be recovered from polluted humid air such as baking vapours or vapour extraction systems contaminated with suspended particles. NET also offers other product ranges with special advantages, such as an extremely low pressure loss or an optimised integrated bypass system.

The heat exchangers can be used without any problems in new systems as well as in existing ones. NET’s portfolio is completed by accessories such as control technology, hydraulic sets and even chimney fans. The standard product range is approved by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) with the number Z-43.31-458.

The thermoject heat exchangers are made of stainless steel and have a high-quality finish. Their pull-out registers allow easy and thorough cleaning, which is particularly relevant for flue gases containing suspended particles. Therefore, the units are particularly suitable for heat recovery from biomass flue gases.
