Without an inner pipe also works: the Airjekt 1 Ceramic fine dust separator for masonry chimneys

Maisach, 18 September 2023 – The Airjekt 1 Ceramic particle separator can be used for installation in masonry chimneys without an inner pipe. The device from Kutzner + Weber, a company of the Raab Group, has the approval of the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt). This installation variant considerably expands the range of applications.

The approval ensures that the chimney sweep responsible for the acceptance can approve the installation without hesitation from a fire protection point of view. All verifications provided by Kutzner + Weber have been confirmed by DIBt and comply with the requirements of the firing ordinances of the federal states. This also includes the required tightness of the chimney cleaning closure as well as its fire-retardant properties.

The separator is used with closed wood-burning appliances that use untreated wood or pellets as fuel. In addition to fireplace or tiled stoves, these are pellet and wood gasification boilers. With its use, for example, the retrofitting obligation for high-quality, permanently installed tiled stoves or fireplaces that cannot be easily replaced can be fulfilled. In addition, new fireplaces can also be further optimised. The separation efficiency for fine dust is up to 90 %, so the units are considered a valuable contribution to environmental protection.

Quick installation

Installation in the chimney is very simple, because Kutzner + Weber provides an installation set consisting of a separator and cleaning door. The door is replaced in the existing building with the existing cleaning opening or another opening is created. If required, the version with 250 mm shaft extension can be used for this purpose. Finally, place the electrode in the centre of the chimney. An electrician is not required, only the plug is inserted into the socket.

An additional sturdy cleaning cover is supplied for sweeping the chimney from the mouth. An integrated temperature sensor causes the Airjekt 1 Ceramic to be activated when the switch-on temperature is reached. The maximum operating temperature is 400 °C. The Airjekt 1 Ceramic is suitable for continuous operation. The maintenance intervals depend on how often the fireplace is in operation.
