Unobtrusive but effective
With this type of silencer, it is possible to reduce the sound immediately behind the sound source.
The slot absorbers are able to be adapted to the most complicated space conditions in boilers in order to be able to use as much space as possible for sound level reduction.
The slot absorbers are a result of close cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics.
They have been brought to market maturity for the first time by Kutzner + Weber. This method of silencing is protected by patent.
Structure
The porous absorbers used here are almost completely covered by discs with narrow slots.
A specially developed programme is used to design the slot width and slot spacing for a specified frequency range.
In this way, the silencer dimensions can be specified.
Mode of operation
The slot absorbers work similarly to conventional resonators. However, in contrast to Helmholtz resonators, for example, they can be tuned to a broader band.
Silencing properties
Their silencing already starts at a frequency of approx. 125 Hz. With this silencer solution, a reduction in the sum level of ideally up to 8 dB can be achieved, which is audibly perceived as almost halving the noise.
