World of Fireplaces 2023: Raab Group presents solutions for environmentally friendly heating and flue gas technology

Neuwied, 23 February 2023 – The new World of Fireplaces trade fair will be held for the first time in Leipzig from 17 to 19 April. This is intended as a future meeting place for the industry on the subject of fireplaces and feel-good ambience. With its brands Raab and Kutzner + Weber, the Raab Group will be presenting gas flue systems from Raab and the proven components for environmentally friendly heating from Kutzner + Weber at the trade fair premiere at Stand C 11 in Hall 5.

Burning biomass in the fireplace can become a major problem for the environment. If combustion is not carried out cleanly and the exhaust air escapes unfiltered through the chimney, emissions can be released at an alarming level. It doesn’t have to be that way. At the World of Fireplaces, Kutzner + Weber will be showing, among other things, solutions that reduce fine dust and save fuel – true to the Raab philosophy of the “intelligent chimney”.

Saubere Verbrennung und Abluftreinigung

Clean burning is indispensable for environmentally friendly heating. Draught regulators and chimney fans optimise the chimney draught and thus support clean burning of the fuel. This means that up to 40 percent less fuel is needed and emissions are reduced even before the smoke rises from the chimney. This saves money and protects the environment. In the chimney itself, fine dust separators further reduce emissions. As a result, the ambient air is significantly less polluted. The systems can also be easily retrofitted in existing buildings. At the World of Fireplaces, the Raab Group will be exhibiting draught regulators, fine dust particle separators from the Airjekt series and the AirSpeedy chimney fan from its Kutzner + Weber brand, which has proved particularly successful for single fireplaces.

Around 80 percent of emissions and particulate matter are produced during the heating-up phase. Draught problems can occur in the chimney due to unfavourable weather conditions, an unfavourable positioning of the chimney or a cold flue gas system during start-up. Chimney fans help to reach operating temperature more quickly thanks to constant draught. At the World of Fireplaces, the focus is on the Diajekt chimney fan and the AirSpeedy model. The AirSpeedy chimney fan was specially developed for stoves and heating inserts in the low output range up to 8 kW. It provides targeted support for the draught, for example during the heating-up phase, when adding wood, in certain weather conditions or if the chimney is not high enough. In addition to promoting efficient burning, the chimney fan also increases heating comfort: nothing smokes back and the windows soot less. The AirSpeedy can be retrofitted in existing buildings without any problems.

Chimneys for all heating types

The core business of the Raab Group is flue systems made of stainless steel; lightweight chimneys are also part of the product range. Several single- and double-walled stainless steel chimneys with and without thermal insulation, such as the Raab EW, DW and DW-Alkon, will be presented at the stand. The Alkon variants are characterised by the patented conical plug-in connection. With the lightweight chimneys, chimneys within the building can be retrofitted quickly and easily. On display at the stand will be the LB Universal, a three-shell lightweight chimney specially developed for retrofitting. It is particularly recommended for installation on wall brackets or wooden beam ceilings, for conversions or for installation in prefabricated houses with wooden post and beam construction. With the space-saving lightweight chimneys from the Raab Group, chimneys can be easily retrofitted inside the building and the mouth optimally placed near the ridge. In this way, the requirements of the new version of the german § 19 (discharge conditions) of the 1st BImSchV adopted in 2021 can be met.

Visitors to the World of Fireplaces in Leipzig will find these and other exhaust technology products at the Raab Group’s stand C 11 in Hall 5.
