The Chimney Sweep Trade’s “Glückstour” with a Final Stop at the Federal Association Congress in Bonn

Neuwied, 26.06.2023 – This year, the “Glückstour” (Tour of Happiness) for the benefit of children with cancer and serious illnesses took place for the 18th time. Once again, numerous chimney sweeps set off on racing bikes to raise funds for the Glückstour e.V. Association to collect. The tour has become an integral part of the chimney sweep industry’s annual schedule. As every year, the destination was the Federal Association Day of the Chimney Sweeping Trade, which met this year in Bonn.

Over 1,000 kilometres in seven days in wind and weather – every year this demands a lot of energy from the cyclists. This year it went from Freilassing via Landshut, Roth, Kitzingen, Aschaffenburg and Bingen to Bonn. The thought of doing a lot of good with their efforts makes everyone persevere. Donations are handed over to local initiatives, parents’ associations and clinics at the individual stage destinations. This campaign of the chimney sweep trade has been supported by numerous companies as well as private donors for years. With more than three million euros collected in donations, the private aid campaign is one of the largest in Germany.

The Raab Group, one of the leading suppliers of energy-efficient chimney systems and flue gas system solutions, has also long supported the association with a donation. Alexander Root, authorised signatory of the Raab Group, symbolically handed over the donation cheque in the amount of € 5,000 at the Federal Association Day of the Chimney Sweeping Trade in Bonn. This year he had the special pleasure of pedalling himself on the first stage from Freilassing to Landshut. He summarises his impressions as follows: “Participating in the first stage of the Tour was very exhausting, but also very rewarding. We drove through beautiful landscapes and passed picturesque villages on the way to Landshut. Once there, we were greeted by many people who applauded us. We felt that every effort is worthwhile to support the fight against childhood cancer.
I am grateful to have been part of this tour and will never forget this great experience. I will cherish these memories forever and hope that the Happiness Tour will continue to be successful in supporting children with cancer in the future.”

The Raab Group was again represented with a stand at the Federal Association Day and was pleased about the productive exchange with numerous visitors.
