Raab Group acquires BOMAT: Expanding its exhaust technology division

Raab Group acquires BOMAT Energiesysteme GmbH
Strengthening expertise in heat recovery and exhaust gas heat exchangers

On 1 January 2026, the Raab Group will take over BOMAT Energiesysteme GmbH, based in Überlingen. The company will be managed as a specialised unit within the Raab Group in future and will specifically complement the portfolio in the area of heat recovery and exhaust gas heat exchangers. As part of the takeover, Alexander Root, CEO of Kutzner + Weber GmbH and member of the Raab Group’s management board, will take over the management of BOMAT Energiesysteme GmbH. He succeeds Gerhard Schneider, who successfully managed the company for many years and had a significant influence on its development. A key element of the acquisition is the patented BOMAT ceramic technology, which significantly expands the Raab Group’s existing product and technology portfolio and opens up new application possibilities in the fields of heating technology and industrial waste heat.

BOMAT Energiesysteme GmbH, founded in 1982, is one of the established specialists for exhaust gas heat exchangers and has been a sought-after OEM partner for renowned manufacturers in the heating technology and CHP industry for many years. In addition to solutions for oil and gas boilers in the small and large output range, BOMAT also supplies systems for utilising industrial waste heat. Particularly noteworthy is the patented ceramic technology, which ensures high acid resistance. In condensation mode, this produces metal-free condensate that is ecologically harmless and meets high standards of sustainability and operational safety. Well-known product lines include the Profitherm series and the modular Minitherm exhaust gas heat exchangers.

Synergies within the Raab Group
In future, BOMAT’s expertise will be pooled in particular with that of Raab subsidiary NET Neue Energie Technik. The aim is to further expand development, product and system expertise in the field of energy-efficient exhaust systems.
“The collaboration between two experienced companies will generate substantial synergies”, explains Alexander Root. “We see considerable potential in terms of sustainability, energy savings and increased efficiency – both for our customers and for new areas of application.”

Continuity and further development
The BOMAT brand will be retained and will continue to operate as an independent name and company within the Raab Group. Development, expertise and existing customer relationships continue to form the basis of the company. At the same time, BOMAT will be gradually integrated into the structures of the Raab Group, particularly in the areas of strategic development, technology platforms, production and group-wide sales. With this acquisition, the Raab Group is expanding its portfolio to include highly flexible, ceramic-based exhaust gas heat exchangers, which perfectly complement the existing product range.
